What’s new

Volvo xc90 2024 serves as an existing model. However, Volvo makes a few minor adjustments to the SUV’s features and choices in the menus, the most prominent of which is the discontinuation of the Dark theme and its black exterior trim pieces. However, the Bright theme and its chrome parts continue to exist. Other changes include standard laminated side windows on the top-tier Ultimate trim level and a newly optional 22-inch wheel and tire package for the turbocharged and supercharged XC90 B6 Extreme.

Design

Volvo changed the XC90 2024 mild-hybrid SUV for the Indian market, adding certain feature upgrades. The redesigned XC90 is priced at Rs 96.50 lakh (ex-showroom), which is almost Rs 1 lakh higher than the current XC90 mild-hybrid, which was introduced last year. Along with changes to its flagship SUV, Volvo started the XC40 facelift and revealed prices for the 2020 model year S90 sedan and XC60 SUV. As previously stated, the 2023 XC90 mild hybrid is only available in one trim level: B6 Extreme. The design is as magnificent as one would anticipate, with Volvo’s distinctive concept of understated beauty. This makes the car appear huge in person and allows you to see the quality all around, but not in a bright way.

Engine, Transmission & Performance

Even the B5 and B6 powertrains benefit from a 48-volt electric motor. B5 versions have a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 247 horsepower. Upgrading to the B6 powerplant, which is available on Plus and standard on Ultimate trim levels, boosts output to 295 horsepower. The 455-hp plug-in hybrid XC90 Recharge is the most powerful in the lineup. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission are standard on all XC90s, regardless of trim level or powerplant. On our test track, a Recharge reached 60 mph in under 4.5 seconds. The Volvo, like many other vehicles in its class, leans slightly around curves, but its steering reactions are precise, and the wheel has a nice heft that falls somewhere between featherweight and heavyweight.

In test vehicle had the optional air suspension, which delivered a comfortable, insulated ride. It also handled most traffic scenarios admirably. The chassis’s clattering over extremely sharp bumps reveals small road defects, one of only a few complaints about the otherwise beautiful XC90.

Mileage

Volvo xc90 2024 is fueled by a 2.0-liter T8 twin-engine and an electric engine, which provides 400PS and 640Nm of peak torque. The petrol hybrids were said to have a fuel efficiency of 42kmpl. The XC90 also has a 2.0-litre diesel engine with a quoted consumption of fuel of 17.2 kmpl.

Interior, Comfort & Cargo

The inside of the XC90 is a masterpiece of the medium, with an appealing design and high-quality materials. We wish there were more automobiles like these. Adults will not be pleased with the third row, especially if the travel is long. The XC90’s wide, boxy form makes it easier to transport luggage, although the internal compartments are less than those of other competitors.

Infotainment & Connectivity

All XC90s come standard with a beautiful, tablet-like 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Every model supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot is optional. Additional superfluous hard buttons and more logical on-screen controls would significantly improve its functionality.

Driving Experience

With a heady blend of convenience and marketing force, the SUV has bludgeoned its way to vehicle dominance, expanding from the heartlands of the United States to a new generation of eager customers in China and dominating even Europe’s twisty, tiny streets. Volvo produces antique quality autos for discerning customers. It’s not only about having a nice-looking car; it’s about the feeling you receive inside a high-end vehicle. Volvo has high expectations, but this is because every Volvo is of such good quality that it is difficult to expect anything less.

Safety Equipment & Feature

Volvo xc90 2024 includes over a half-dozen security features, making it one of the safest SUVs on the market. The SUV includes driver and travelers’ front and side airbags, knee airbags, electronic brake distribution (EBD), emergency brake assist (EBA), an anti-lock braking system (ABS), and other essential safety measures.

Volvo designs a highly secure protective cage created from ultra-high strength steel. The construction is cleverly designed to disperse impact energy in the case of a collision while keeping the occupants safe. For this reason, Volvo engineers created the XC90 with strategically placed softer parts that serve as front and rear crush zones. Besides that, one of the Volvo XC90’s primary safety features is the addition of 7 airbags, including those for the third row. The XC90 has front, side, and hood airbags to protect its occupants. This SUV includes SIPS as standard equipment for enhanced safety.

Along with this, we’re talking about Volvo. They are unparalleled pioneers in terms of safety and innovation. If you thought working with orthopedic professionals to create ergonomic chairs was brilliant, their spine protection feature goes further. The Volvo XC90’s seats are equipped with a spring that absorbs compression and avoids back injuries in the case of an accident, protecting both passengers and the driver.

Apart from these, the Volvo XC90 is equipped with Hill-Start Assist, Hill Descent Help, Radar-based Cruise Regulation System, Volvo City Protection, and Park Assist Pilot. All of these functions work together to protect the Volvo XC90’s occupants while also making daily driving more convenient and pleasurable. If better security isn’t enough to get you to buy a Volvo XC90, ponder how Volvo has reimagined beauty and comfort with the XC90’s newest edition.

Value of money

It can get started if you want it to! Volvo isn’t attempting to compete with V6 or V8 SUVs, but the engine and four-cylinder provide a combined 400 horsepower, which isn’t horrible. The car is smooth, and Pure Mode allows it to travel for slightly more than 40 kilometers on electric power alone. The electric motor may generate maximum torque at a standstill, thus torque is prepared on demand right away. It is one of the finest automobiles Volvo has ever created, and it’s legacy will last for an extended period.

ProsCons
•Sharp Exterior Design
•Comfortable Cabin
•Loaded On The Feature Fron
•Climate Control Option Is Confusing
•Touchscreen Takes Effort
•Lacks Outright Performance

Verdict

The Volvo delivers outstanding performance without directly competing with V6 or V8 SUVs. Its combined power of 400bhp from the electric motor and 4-cylinder engine is commendably sturdy. The vehicle runs well and, when set to Pure Mode, can travel little more than 40 kilometers entirely on electric power. It also provides quick torque, thanks to the electric motor’s capacity to deliver full torque from a standstill, providing responsive and dynamic acceleration right away.
