BMW X6 M 2024: Launching in December What’s New, Price & Specification

BMW X6 M 2024 is a five-seater SUV priced between Rs. 1.04 and 1.11 crore. It is offered in six models, with a 2998 cc engine and one gearbox option: automatic. The X6 has a ground clearance of 216 mm and is available in eight colors. The BMW X6 has a mileage of 10.3 kmpl.

BMW X6 M 2024

BMW X6 M 2024 is a powerful sloped-back ute. It blends its high-octane antics with a cabin adorned with exquisite materials and plenty of standard technology. The X6 M offers most of the same content as its more conventionally styled sibling, the X5 M SUV, but with less cargo room and slightly more style thanks to the fastback roofline. A twin-turbo V-8 with a hybrid system produces 617 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.

We’ve praised the X6 M for its easy speed and aggressive handling, and BMW claims to have smoothed out the notoriously rough ride this year. We will see. At the very least, we are confident that the X6 M retains the ability to compete with the Audi RS Q8 and Porsche Cayenne Coupe.

What’s New

BMW has given the X6 M a facelift for the 2024 model year, which includes revised sheet metal for a more chiseled look, crisp exterior lighting elements, a spruced-up interior with a new curved center display, and a new V-8 engine and eight-speed transmission with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. Additionally, the X6 M is now exclusively available in a Competition model with 617 horsepower.

The German automaker has also upgraded the high-performance fastback SUV with new carbon shift paddles, more standard safety features, an M-specific version of iDrive, and more. Three new colors are available: Brooklyn Grey Metallic, Isle of Man Green Metallic, and Frozen Pure Grey Metallic.

Price & which one to buy

BMW X6 M 2024 Ex-Showroom pricing starts at 1.82 crore. BMW sells the X6 M in one configuration.

It’s difficult to see how less practicality may attract a higher price. Still, the 2023 X6 M is more expensive than its squareback sibling, the X5 M. We prefer the less expensive body style, but the X6 gets more attention. Every X6 M constructed from the 2024 model year forward will be a Competition model, as the package included is now standard.

This means that the hybridized twin-turbo V-8 engine produces the same 617 horsepower in all models, as well as an adaptive M suspension, 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels, a panoramic roof, a Harman Kardon audio system, a driving recorder, and a host of safety features. We’d prefer to order our X6 M in the stunning Isle Of Man Green Metallic and select the Executive Package, which includes luxurious features such as soft-close automatic doors, LED lighting for the panoramic roof, heated-and-cooled cupholders, front ventilated massaging seats, front and rear heated seats, and rear manual side window shades.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

BMW X6 M 2024 is powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 engine combined with a 48-volt mild hybrid powertrain that includes an electric motor installed in the eight-speed automatic transmission. The combined output is the same as the older, non-hybrid Competition versions, which produced 617 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. We have yet to get behind the wheel of the new hybridized version, therefore we have not put it through our instrumented testing procedure either.

However, we anticipate that the performance will be comparable to or better than that of pre-facelift models. During our previous test drive of the X6 M Competition, we praised its lightning-fast acceleration, astounding cornering grip, and robust, fade-free brakes. While it drove smoothly and steadily on the highway, its wide wheels and firm springs made for a bumpy ride on uneven roads. We appreciate the fact that this drivetrain can be configured to distribute power to all four wheels for maximum traction or to send the majority of it rearward for sharper handling.

In addition to various drive modes and configurable settings accessible via steering-wheel-mounted buttons, the X6 M has adjustable brake-pedal feedback. The BMW also has standard adjustable dampers and staggered wheels that measure 21 inches in the front and 22 inches in the rear.

Connectivity & Infotainment

The curved display is the centerpiece of the X6 M’s cabin, consisting of a digital display for the driver that extends into a touchscreen for the infotainment system. It runs BMW’s latest iDrive software and can be controlled using hand gestures, voice instructions, and a rotary controller positioned in the center console. The standard amenities include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Harman Kardon sound system. Looking for a more powerful stereo? A Bowers & Wilkins setup can be purchased for an additional fee.

Interior

Sportiness and luxury merge inside the X6 M, which has carbon-fiber highlights and standard leather upholstery. There are also plenty of high-tech amenities like a curved center display that smoothly connects the digital gauge cluster with the infotainment system’s touchscreen.

These are supplemented by features like ambient interior lighting, optional massaging front seats with heating and ventilation, heated rear seats, heated/cooled cup holders, and much more. A coverable bin beneath the center stack and a helpful center console bin highlight the interior cubby storage area. While its coupe-like design has no effect on how comfortable it is for front- and back-seat occupants, the sloping roofline reduces rear visibility and baggage room. The conventional X5 M has 34 cubic feet behind the rear row, however, the X6 M has only 27.

Safety

Every X6 M comes equipped with a slew of driver-assistance features, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, as well as additional options. The X6 M also includes standard Maneuver Assistant, which can record and replicate moves even in reverse; drivers can use this feature on their cellphones. Verdict

BMW X6 M 2024 provides a competitive advantage in the market by offering two separate trim levels with varying standard equipment and features at the same price point. This strategic stance gives it a significant advantage over its current and upcoming competitors, including the Audi Q8, Porsche Cayenne Coupé, and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé. Customizing the X6 with available add-ons may increase the ultimate cost beyond the ₹1 crore threshold.
